Was supposed to be a great year with the release of Kolonien third album, tours in Italy, US/Canada, Scandinavia. But then corona happened…. Still some great things made it through the cracks.

A year with the focus of writing music for our third album, many days were spent in our studio cabin in the woods outside Järna writing new music.

- Kolonien made the decision to tour less for one year, due to longer travels and a child to be born. - Official showcase at the Finnish folk music expo “Folklandia”.

- Release of second album ”Drömmarnas Land”.

- Kolonien held the prestigious opening concert of the folk music festival Stockholm Folk Festival in Stockholm. They invited artists from all genres, names among others: Rigmor Gustafsson, Ale Möller, Tomas Ledin, Syster Sol, Eric Bibb, the band RURA (SC).

- ”Newcomer of the Year”, at the Swedish Folk Music Award. Motivation: "Kolonien creates its own world on the folk music scene. A generous world of present and past times, of play and seriousness. Kolonien breaked through this year and wants more with its music than just telling a story. This group has an opinion."

- Release of the EP ”Sammanhang”.

- Världens Band Second tour with the world music sibling project Världens Band.

- Release of the debut album ”Clockwise”, March (Nataraj Records, 2012).

- Kolonien got selected to play at the international conference Euro-Med Youth Music Expo in Cyprus, lead by the organization EAYMC.

- Kolonien got selected as only Swedish delegation to go to the international world music camp Ethno in Groznjan, Croatia. Lead by the organisation JMI (Jeunesses Musicales International).

- Världens Band Kolonien got funding from the Swedish government (Statens musikverk) to lead a project of bringing fourteen musicians from all over the world to Sweden to create a world music big band and a festival in the center of Stockholm, ”Världens Festival”. The outcome was successful and the project became a permanent band itself that since then has toured regularly in Scandinavia and the UK.

- Kolonien played around 30 concerts in Sweden.

- ”Best Young Folk Act of the Year”. A national competition for folk bands in Sweden. Motivation, the Jury: "A playful synthesis of traditional expressions and contemporary times. Impressive musical skills and creativity makes Kolonien a great music experience - straightforward and spot on."

- Kolonien signed a recording contract with the record label Nataraj Records (SWE).

- Kolonien got selected from the Swedish organisation Studieförbundet Bilda as the only Swedish delegation of the folk music exchange event Dandanat Festival in Israel.

- Kolonien played around 15 concerts in Sweden.

- Kolonien started 2010 for a festival concert at the international festival Kizimkazi Festival in Zanzibar, Tanzania.
